CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Circleville Police responded to 53 calls for service on July 27, handling a variety of incidents that included warrant arrests, theft investigations, a domestic disturbance involving a mental health crisis, traffic enforcement, and numerous patrol checks throughout the city.
Officers conducted extra patrols overnight in several areas, including East Main Street, U.S. Route 23, North Court Street, Sycamore Drive, Clark Drive, Gale Court, Gumm Place, East Ohio Street, South Pickaway Street, and other locations. All of the patrols were completed without incident.
Warrant Arrests
Police made two warrant-related arrests during the day.
The first occurred shortly before noon on East Ohio Street, where officers successfully located and arrested an individual wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Later that evening, officers made a second warrant arrest during an incident on U.S. Route 23.
Earlier in the day, officers also attempted to locate an individual with an outstanding warrant on U.S. Route 23, but were unable to find the person.
Theft Investigations
Officers opened multiple theft investigations throughout the day.
A theft was reported on Weldon Avenue during the afternoon, where a report was taken.
Police also responded to a theft complaint on U.S. Route 23 later in the day, where officers gathered information as part of the investigation.
A third theft was reported late Monday night on South Pickaway Street, with officers taking a formal report.
Domestic Incident and Mental Health Call
One of the more significant calls came just before 5:40 p.m. on Third Avenue, where officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving a reported mental health situation. A police report was completed.
Other Incidents
Police also investigated a property damage complaint on East Main Street, took a miscellaneous complaint report on North Court Street, and responded to a disturbance on South Pickaway Street.
A suspicious person complaint on West Main Street was investigated during the afternoon, while another suspicious person reported on East Franklin Street was gone before officers arrived.
Officers responded to several juvenile complaints throughout the day on North Court Street, South Court Street, Harrison Street, and Barry Drive. Most callers reported the juveniles had left before officers arrived.
Other calls included parking complaints on Atwater Avenue and Lewis Avenue, a telephone harassment complaint on North Scioto Street, civil disputes, property releases, well-being checks, and an alarm drop on West Franklin Street.
Traffic Enforcement
Circleville officers conducted several traffic stops during the day. Warnings were issued following stops on South Court Street and Lancaster Pike.
Another traffic stop on West Franklin Street resulted in an arrest.
Additional Calls
Police also responded to:
- A dirt bike/ATV complaint on Chatham Road, but the vehicle was gone before officers arrived.
- Multiple accidental or abandoned 911 calls, all of which were determined to be non-emergencies.
- An accidental EMS response on East Mound Street where no transport was required.
- Animal and civil complaints, several of which were canceled or resolved without further action.
