CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a wide variety of incidents throughout the city on Tuesday, July 21, according to the department’s daily media report.
Among the day’s more notable calls, officers were dispatched at 12:58 p.m. to a residence in the 600 block of Belleview Avenue after receiving a report of a possible deceased person. Police classified the incident as a non-suspicious death, and the investigation was initiated at the scene.
Earlier in the morning, at 6:57 a.m., officers responded to the Floyd Simantel Clinic on East Second Street for a reported criminal trespass involving an individual identified in the report. The investigation remains pending.
At 7:55 a.m., officers were dispatched to West Fifth Street after receiving a complaint of criminal mischief. Police said the investigation is continuing.
Police also investigated a theft-related complaint at the Law Enforcement Complex on North High Street at 2:46 p.m. The incident was listed as non-criminal and remains under investigation.
Just after 3 p.m., officers responded to 381 Yoctangee Parkway following a report of a disorderly individual. The case remains under investigation.
Retail thefts kept officers busy during the afternoon and evening. At 5:30 p.m., police were dispatched to Walmart on River Trace Lane for a reported shoplifting incident. The investigation is ongoing.
Roughly 30 minutes later, officers responded to Kohl’s on River Trace Lane after receiving a report involving a theft and criminal trespass in a restricted area.
At 5:45 p.m., officers were called to Jerry’s Pizza on South Paint Street for a disorderly, intoxicated customer. A report was taken, and police indicated no further action was necessary.
A parking complaint brought officers to 127 N. High Street at 7:20 p.m.
Later in the evening, at 8:42 p.m., police responded to West Main Street for a vandalism complaint. A summons was issued in connection with the criminal mischief investigation, and the case was closed.
