SOUTH BLOOMFIELD, Ohio — A Wooster man has died following a violent collision between an SUV and a semi-truck early Monday morning at a major Pickaway County intersection, authorities confirmed.

According to Pickaway County Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey, the crash occurred at approximately 4:35 a.m. on June 29, 2026, at the intersection of US Route 23, State Route 752, and Rudi Lane in South Bloomfield.

Officers from the South Bloomfield and Commercial Point Police Departments were the first to arrive on the scene. They were joined shortly after by Pickaway County Sheriff’s deputies and Ashville Police officers.

Emergency responders discovered a 2014 red Peterbilt semi-truck and trailer that had been turning northbound through the intersection. South of the intersection, they located a heavily damaged white 2025 Nissan Rogue angled in the northbound lanes.

The initial investigation revealed that the Peterbilt semi-truck had been stopped at the traffic light at Rudi Lane and US-23. When the light changed, the semi-truck proceeded into the intersection to turn northbound. At the same time, the Nissan Rogue was traveling southbound on US-23.

Investigators determined that the Nissan Rogue failed to stop at the traffic light as it approached Rudi Lane. The SUV collided directly with the semi-truck’s trailer, wedging underneath the trailer before spinning out into the roadway.

The driver of the Nissan Rogue, identified as 29-year-old William A. Robishaw of Wooster, Ohio, sustained fatal injuries. Harrison Township Fire and EMS personnel pronounced Robishaw deceased at the scene at 4:44 a.m.

Sheriff Hafey extended his thanks to the numerous agencies that assisted at the scene, including Harrison Township Fire and EMS, the South Bloomfield, Commercial Point, and Ashville Police Departments, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Pickaway County Coroner Dr. Seth Yates, and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).

The fatal collision remains under active investigation by the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.
