PORTSMOUTH, OH — Local talent is heading to the halls of government as Congressman Dave Taylor (OH-02) officially announced the winners of the 2026 Congressional Art Competition. Among the elite group of student artists recognized was Madilynn Miller of Circleville High School, who secured a prestigious third-place finish.

Miller’s winning entry, a photography piece titled “Through the Looking Glass,” stood out in a competitive field representing high schools from across southern Ohio.

Recognition for Circleville Excellence
As the third-place winner, Miller’s photography will be prominently displayed in Congressman Taylor’s Union Township office, where it will be viewed by constituents and staff throughout the coming year.

Congressman Taylor, along with his wife Charity Taylor, hosted the awards ceremony on April 29 at Shawnee State University to celebrate the creativity of District 2 students.

“I continue to be impressed by the exceptional talent and originality of our local high schoolers,” said Congressman Taylor. “Their investment builds students’ confidence in their abilities and gives them the opportunity to showcase their talent.”

A Tradition of Talent
The Congressional Art Competition has been a staple for high schoolers since 1982, with more than 650,000 students participating nationwide. The event serves as a launchpad for young creators, and this year, Circleville High School proved once again that its arts program is among the strongest in the region.
