WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, OH — A Circleville man is facing charges for operating a vehicle under the influence after a late-night crash on US-22 that sent two people to the hospital.

The accident occurred at approximately 12:40 AM on Sunday, May 3, 2026, near the intersection of US-22 and Beechwood Drive.

Attempted Overtake Leads to Collision

According to the report from the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, Mark Walten Davidson, 57, of Circleville, was traveling eastbound on US-22 in a maroon 2021 Ford Mustang.

Investigators state that Davidson attempted to overtake another eastbound vehicle, a white 2017 Jeep Compass driven by Faith Ann Pressley, 36. During the maneuver, Davidson’s Mustang sideswiped the driver’s side of the Jeep, causing moderate damage.

Following the impact, the Mustang crossed the center line and traveled off the left side of the roadway, plunging into a ditch before eventually coming to rest back on the pavement.

Injuries and Emergency Response

The crash resulted in injuries to both drivers:

  • Mark Davidson (Unit 1): Sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported by Circleville City EMS to OhioHealth Berger Hospital.
  • Faith Ann Pressley (Unit 2): Sustained suspected minor injuries. Clearcreek Township EMS responded to treat her at the scene.
  • Minor Passenger: A 4-year-old boy in the Jeep was evaluated at the scene by Clearcreek Township EMS but was found to have no apparent injuries.

OVI Charges and Citation

Deputy Alex Casto, the lead investigator on the scene, noted that alcohol was suspected to be a factor in the crash. Davidson was subsequently cited for OVI (Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence) and Improper Passing.

The Mustang, which sustained disabling damage, was towed from the scene. The Jeep remained functional enough that it did not require a tow. The roadway was officially cleared at 3:38 AM.
