CIRCLEVILLE, OH — The Circleville Police Department remained active through Tuesday, April 21, 2026, handling 38 calls for service that ranged from felony vehicle thefts to high-traffic hit-and-run accidents.

The day’s activity was marked by several reports that required immediate investigative action, including a daytime arrest for suspicious behavior and multiple property damage incidents.


Major Incidents & Arrests

  • Stolen Vehicle on Huston Street: At 3:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the Huston Street area. A formal report was taken, and an investigation into the theft is ongoing.
  • Suspicious Person Leads to Arrest: Police were called to East Main Street at 2:06 p.m. regarding a suspicious person. Upon arrival and investigation, officers made a physical arrest.
  • Hit-Skip Accident: A “hit-and-run” crash was reported at 11:02 a.m. on East Main Street. No injuries were reported, but a formal hit-skip report was filed as officers look for the fleeing vehicle.
  • Protection Order Violation: Officers were dispatched to Lancaster Pike just before 1:00 p.m. in reference to a violation of a protection order. A report was filed for potential charges.

Crimes Against Property & Neighbors

The afternoon hours saw a cluster of property-related disputes:

  • Vandalism: Reported at 8:45 a.m. on Pinckney Street.
  • Neighbor Trouble: At 4:10 p.m., units responded to Hillcrest Drive to settle a dispute between neighbors; a report was taken to document the conflict.
  • General Property Damage: Separate reports of property damage were filed for incidents on Faye Avenue and along US 23 during the late afternoon.

Public Safety & Nuisance Calls

  • Fire Response: Emergency crews responded to US Route 23 at 8:34 p.m. regarding a fire. The situation was quickly contained, and the fire was confirmed out.
  • Dirt Bike/ATV Complaints: Circleville residents filed two separate complaints regarding dirt bikes and ATVs—one on East Main Street and another on North Court Street. In both instances, the riders were “Gone on Arrival” before officers could make contact.
  • Threats and Harassment: A report was taken following a harassment complaint on East Mound Street at 7:23 p.m. A second complaint on East Franklin Street later that night was resolved without a formal report.
