CIRCLEVILLE — The Circleville Police Department handled a wide array of calls over a 24-hour period on April 14, ranging from early-morning neighborhood patrols to afternoon felony investigations.

According to the latest Media Calls for Service (CFS) report, officers managed 38 distinct incidents, including several that resulted in formal police reports.

Afternoon Crime Spike: B&E, Theft, and Narcotics

The most significant activity occurred during the afternoon hours on Tuesday:

  • Breaking & Entering: Officers responded to a Breaking & Entering call on East Main Street at 2:59 p.m. A formal report was taken, and the incident remains under investigation.
  • Narcotics Found: At 5:00 p.m., police were dispatched to South Court Street in reference to found property. Upon arrival, officers recovered narcotics and filed an official report.
  • Thefts and Vandalism: It was a difficult day for property owners, with two separate thefts reported on East Main Street (at 4:36 p.m. and 5:21 p.m.) and a vandalism report taken on U.S. Route 23 at 4:41 p.m.

Neighborhood Disputes and Welfare Checks

Circleville officers spent a large portion of the day mediating local conflicts and checking on residents:

  • Neighbor Trouble: Police responded to four separate “neighbor trouble” calls throughout the day on Town Street, Logan Street, and Renick Avenue. Most were resolved without the need for formal reports.
  • Welfare Checks: Officers performed three “Well Being Checks” on Lancaster Pike, Dunkel Road, and North Court Street, confirming all residents involved were okay.
  • Juvenile Complaints: Police were called to Villa Drive for an unruly juvenile and to Hillcrest Drive regarding a juvenile complaint, both of which were cleared by the evening.

Early Morning and Traffic Enforcement

The day began with a series of “Extra Patrols” between midnight and 3:00 a.m. to secure local businesses and residential streets, including Logan Street, Imperial Court, and East Circle Lane.

Other notable incidents included:

  • Non-Injury Accident: A traffic crash was reported on Lynwood Avenue at 12:27 p.m. While there were no injuries, a report was filed for insurance purposes.
  • Domestic Trouble: Officers took a report on a domestic dispute on Williams Drive at 1:37 p.m.
  • Vehicle Repossessions: Two vehicle repossessions were logged—one on East High Street at 5:58 a.m. and another on U.S. Route 23 just before noon.

Fire and EMS Responses

The evening hours saw a few emergency dispatches, including a fire call on Forest View Court at 8:25 p.m. and a fire alarm on Harrison Street shortly after, though the latter was canceled prior to the arrival of crews.

The Circleville Police Department continues to encourage residents to report suspicious activity, such as the “Suspicious Person” call on Walnut Street early Tuesday morning, to help maintain community safety.
