Grand Opening Details
Doors will officially swing open to the public on Thursday, April 16, 2026. To celebrate the brand’s arrival on the city’s south end, the restaurant is offering a special incentive for early birds:
- The Prize: The first 25 guests in line on opening day will receive a FREE Small Cheesesteak Combo, which includes their signature fries and a drink.

From OSU Roots to Circleville
The opening marks a full-circle moment for the Columbus-based brand. Founded in 1986 near The Ohio State University by Charley Shin, the company began with a single shop funded by a $48,000 investment from Shin’s mother. Today, Charleys has grown into a global powerhouse under GOSH Enterprises, Inc. (which also owns BIBIBOP Asian Grill), boasting nearly 700 locations across 47 states and 16 countries.
What’s on the Menu?
Circleville diners can expect the full lineup of Charleys’ fan favorites, prepared fresh to order:
- Signature Cheesesteaks: Including the Classic Steak Philly, Chicken Teriyaki, and Buffalo Chicken.
- Gourmet Fries: Famous fries loaded with cheese sauce, bacon, and jalapeños.
- Real Fruit Lemonades: Made with fresh fruit and natural ingredients.
The transformation of the former Sonic site brings a recognizable national brand to a growing commercial corridor, joining recent developments in the South Court Street area.
