CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Circleville police officers handled a busy slate of calls across the city on Monday, Jan. 20, responding to thefts, alarms, patrol checks, and a variety of service-related incidents, according to the department’s daily call-for-service log.

Officers took multiple theft reports during the day, including a reported theft on North Court Street just after 8:25 a.m. and a theft in progress reported along U.S. 23 South shortly after noon. Both incidents resulted in official reports being taken.

Police also responded to a threats or harassment call on Long Street early in the morning hours, though no report was taken. A domestic trouble call along U.S. 23 was reported later in the afternoon and similarly did not result in a formal report.

Numerous alarm drops were reported throughout the day on West Main Street, U.S. 23, North Court Street, and Wedgewood Court. In each case, officers checked the locations and determined no further action was needed, clearing the calls.

Several suspicious activity and service-related calls were logged, including a suspicious vehicle on East Main Street that was checked and cleared, a property release on East Franklin Street, and a vehicle repossession on East Ohio Street where information was obtained.

Officers also conducted extra patrols overnight and into the early morning hours on streets including Wood Lane, Watt Street, Clark Drive, Springhollow Road, East Mound Street, Lincoln Avenue, and East Circle Lane. All checks were reported as secure.

In addition, Circleville police served and attempted to serve civil process paperwork at multiple locations throughout the afternoon and early evening. Some paperwork was successfully served on South Pickaway Street and Watt Street, while other attempts resulted in “gone on arrival” or “unable to locate” dispositions.

The day concluded with a traffic stop on North Court Street that resulted in a citation being issued and several 911-related calls, including an accidental dial and a hang-up, both of which were checked by officers.

In total, Circleville police logged 29 calls for service on Jan. 20.
