Chillicothe police were kept busy Wednesday, Jan. 15, responding to a wide range of calls that included thefts, warrant arrests, juvenile complaints and ongoing investigations, according to the Chillicothe Police Department’s daily media report released Jan. 16.

Officers made at least two warrant-related contacts during the day on North Paint Street, with one case resulting in an arrest and another involving service of a warrant. Details on those cases were not immediately released.

Police also documented a non-criminal report on North Paint Street tied to an investigation originally reported in 1977. That matter remains under review, authorities said.

A serious investigation was opened later in the morning when detectives began looking into a juvenile complaint involving an alleged rape. The incident was reported on North Paint Street, and police emphasized that the investigation is ongoing. No additional information has been released due to the nature of the case.

Additional calls throughout the day included:

  • Telecommunications harassment on Ringwald Street, where officers responded to the Law Enforcement Complex for a reported court order violation.
  • A welfare check that led to charges of obstructing official business and drug paraphernalia, with the investigation still active.
  • An unruly juvenile complaint at a residence on Ewing Street.
  • A reported theft without consent at the Kroger on North Bridge Street, where police are continuing to investigate.
  • A disorderly conduct complaint involving fighting or threatening behavior at an apartment on Plyleys Lane.
  • A reported shoplifting incident at Walmart on River Trace Lane, classified as theft by deception.

In total, police logged 10 incidents during the reporting period. Several cases remain under investigation, and authorities say more information will be released as it becomes available.
