Chillicothe Police Respond to Series of Calls, Traffic Stops, and Investigations on Jan. 11

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe police officers responded to a variety of incidents across the city on Saturday, January 11, ranging from non-criminal calls and disorderly conduct complaints to traffic stops that resulted in an arrest.

The day began shortly after 6:20 a.m. when officers were dispatched to IHOP on Consumer Center Drive after a wallet was found at the restaurant. The incident was handled as a non-criminal matter.

Just before 7:15 a.m., officers were called to an apartment complex on Arch Street in response to a report of a disorderly individual who was allegedly intoxicated and creating a risk of harm. That investigation remains ongoing.

Around 7:30 a.m., police contacted a local resident on Columbus Street regarding a report of a dog that may have been stolen. The matter is being treated as a non-criminal investigation while officers continue to look into the circumstances.

Later in the morning, at approximately 7:50 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on South Hickory Street for a reported violation of a protection order. Police say the investigation into that incident is continuing.

During the early afternoon, officers assisted the Ross County Sheriff’s Office with an unruly child complaint on Pam Lane. No further details were released.

At about 4:25 p.m., police responded to Dairy Queen on North Bridge Street in reference to a crash. The cause of the crash has not been released, and the investigation remains active.

That evening, officers were called to Raising Cane’s Chicken on North Bridge Street for a report of telecommunications harassment. Police say the complaint is still under investigation.

The day concluded shortly before midnight when officers conducted a traffic stop on East Water Street near North Bridge Street. Police cited the driver for operating a vehicle with invalid plates and confirmed an outstanding warrant. An arrest was made at the scene.

Several of the incidents reported remain under investigation by the Chillicothe Police Department.
