
CIRCLEVILLE, OH — Circleville police handled a wide range of calls for service on Wednesday, January 8, responding to incidents that included thefts, an assault, a fight, suspicious activity, and multiple well-being checks throughout the city.
According to the Circleville Police Department’s daily media report, officers were first called out just before 2 a.m. to a suspicious vehicle on East Mound Street. Shortly afterward, around 2:22 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Crites Road, during which mutual aid was requested from the Circleville Fire Department. A report was taken in that incident.
Later in the morning, police responded to a theft report on Stoutsville Pike at approximately 9:23 a.m., followed by another theft call on West High Street around noon, though no report was taken in that case. At 12:03 p.m., officers were called to Mingo Street for a reported fight, and a report was filed.
The afternoon included several well-being checks on South Pickaway Street, Atwater Avenue, and Clinton Street, along with a probation complaint on Highland Avenue, which officers checked and cleared. Around 3:13 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on North Court Street, but those involved were gone upon arrival.
Additional calls later in the day included a reported assault on East Ohio Street, an unruly juvenile complaint on Mace Drive, and another theft report on Pontious Lane, all of which resulted in reports being taken. Officers also investigated several suspicious person and suspicious circumstance calls across the city, many of which were cleared after officers were unable to locate anyone upon arrival.
During the evening hours, police handled a 911 hang-up call on Fairlawn Drive, parking complaints on East High Street and Walnut Street, and conducted extra patrols on Stoutsville Pike and Mace Drive late into the night.
In total, 25 calls for service were logged by Circleville police on January 8. Several incidents remain under investigation, and no additional details were released.
