Officers were first dispatched around 6:24 a.m. to the area of Renick Avenue and Diehl Street after receiving a report of a possibly deceased man. The incident was later classified as a non-suspicious death, with police continuing to document the circumstances surrounding the case. No additional details on the individual’s identity were immediately released.
Later in the day, police responded to several domestic-related incidents, including a reported domestic dispute tied to an address on North High Street and a separate domestic violence complaint in the areas of West Second Street and Liberty Street. Investigations into those incidents were ongoing at the time of the report.
One of the more serious cases occurred around 2:07 p.m., when officers were dispatched to Adena Regional Medical Center regarding a possible sexual assault. Police said the alleged incident reportedly occurred near Second Street and Water Street. The case is being investigated as a rape, and no suspect information has been released.
Police also responded to several disorderly conduct calls throughout the day, including incidents on Vincent Street, Yoctangee Parkway, and near the Catherine and Holden Corzine Memorial Dog Park.
In addition, officers investigated a breaking and entering report around 4:53 p.m. at a residence on Northview Drive, as well as a possible overdose reported at a North Bridge Street restaurant.
Traffic-related incidents were also logged, including a two-vehicle crash on East Main Street where a driver was cited for failing to yield while making a left turn, and a pedestrian cited for crossing outside a crosswalk on North Bridge Street.
Late in the evening, officers were dispatched to Olive Street shortly before midnight in reference to a suicide attempt. That incident was also classified as non-criminal, with police continuing their investigation.
