
CHILLICOTHE — The Chillicothe Police Department handled a series of incidents throughout the day on December 3, according to the department’s daily media report released December 4. The calls ranged from drug possession and theft to traffic crashes, harassment complaints, and a non-suspicious death investigation.
Drug Arrest on Jefferson Avenue
Shortly after 12:45 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Jefferson Avenue. The driver was arrested on charges including possession of drugs, failure to reinstate a driver’s license, and obstructing official business.
Crash at Bridge and 2nd Streets
At 7:39 a.m., police responded to the intersection of North Bridge Street and 2nd Street for an auto accident. The crash remains under investigation.
Non-Suspicious Death on Vincent Street
At 8:54 a.m., officers conducted a welfare check on Vincent Street and discovered a non-suspicious death. The investigation is ongoing.
Welfare Check on Old Eastern Avenue
At 9:22 a.m., officers were dispatched to 199 Old Eastern Avenue for a welfare check involving a report of improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation. The case is still under review.
Shoplifting Investigation on North Bridge Street
A theft complaint at a business on North Bridge Street resulted in officers being dispatched at 10:52 a.m. The investigation continues.
Threat Complaint Involving CHS Student
At 2:31 p.m., a Chillicothe High School student, Chadalyssia Coil, and her parent reported a telecommunications harassment and threats complaint. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
Multiple Traffic Stops and Violations
- At 3:11 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on North High Street involving a driver under suspension.
- A second stop was made at 4:24 p.m. near Western and Delano Avenue, also involving a driver with a suspended license.
- At 4:32 p.m., officers responded to RHF Enterprises on Western Avenue for a motor vehicle accident involving marked-lane violations.
- Another traffic stop occurred at 8:55 p.m. on South Renick Avenue for a suspended license and an obstructed license plate.
Evening Theft Report
At 6:32 p.m., a theft report was taken via telephone after a caller contacted the Law Enforcement Complex.
In total, Chillicothe Police recorded 11 incidents for the day.
