
CHILLICOTHE, OH — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a variety of incidents throughout the city on Sunday, October 12, 2025, according to the department’s daily media report. Officers handled cases ranging from assaults and theft to disorderly conduct and traffic violations.
One of the more serious incidents occurred around 1:39 a.m. at IHOP on Consumer Center Drive, where officers were dispatched for a disorderly situation that was later classified as a felonious assault. No injuries or arrests have been released at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Earlier in the night, officers conducted a traffic stop on South Watt Street just before 1 a.m. for a license plate violation, resulting in a citation being issued.
Later that morning, police served two warrants — one on North Paint Street and another near the Ross/Fayette County line on U.S. 35 — with both cases still under investigation.
Around 1:49 p.m., officers responded to Marco’s Pizza on Teatsworth Drive after reports of a theft, while another call just before 2:30 p.m. led police to East Water and North Mulberry Streets, where a male suspect was reportedly using drugs while in custody of a child. That incident resulted in potential charges of obstructing official business and tampering with evidence.
Police were also called to Family Dollar on North Bridge Street at 3:02 p.m. for a criminal trespass complaint, and later to Yoctangee Park for a disorderly conduct incident involving threats. Additional disorderly conduct reports came from North Rose Street that evening, where officers investigated claims of taunting behavior.
Traffic enforcement continued throughout the night, including a stop on North Bridge Street around 7:30 p.m., where officers cited Christian Baker for expired plates and driving under suspension. Another stop on Jefferson Avenue just after 8:15 p.m. resulted in a citation for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.
The Chillicothe Police Department logged 12 total cases for the day, with several still under active investigation.
