OHIO — As news of the Sept. 10, 2025 assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk spread, vigils are being organized this Sunday in Pickaway and Fairfield counties to remember his life, his movement, and his faith.

Details of the Vigils

  • Fairfield County: Downtown Lancaster, 8:00 p.m. — participants are asked to bring a candle and their hearts.
  • Pickaway County: Ashville Community Park in Ashville, 6:00 p.m.

The Assassination and Response
Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University during an event on his “American Comeback Tour.” A suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, has been arrested in connection with the killing.

His widow, Erika Kirk, spoke publicly over the weekend, asserting that her husband’s college tour, radio show, and podcast will continue despite his death. She warned those behind the assassination, saying:

“If you thought my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea what you just unleashed across this entire country, and this world.”

Turning Point USA says there were 14 more tour dates planned on college campuses, including the next scheduled stop: Sept. 18 at Colorado State University. Erika Kirk urged young people to join or form local Turning Point USA chapters.

The organization’s stated mission includes promoting “traditional American values like patriotism, respect for life, liberty, family, and fiscal responsibility.”
