LITHOPOLIS, OH — The annual Lithopolis Honeyfest kicks off Friday, September 5, and continues through Saturday, September 6, bringing a weekend full of sweet fun, education, and community spirit. The free festival, launched in 2007 on the front lawn of Wagner Memorial Library, has grown into a village-wide celebration honoring the honeybee and its vital role in global agriculture.
Now recognized as a “Bee City,” Lithopolis embraces the importance of pollinators and their connection to farming and food supply. Organizers say the event’s mission has always been to educate the public on the honeybee’s role in sustaining life.

This year’s Honeyfest will feature 15 food trucks, 120 vendors, two stages of live entertainment, and one-of-a-kind attractions such as bee beard demonstrations and live hive openings. Guests can expect a relaxed, family-friendly environment with easy accessibility, air-conditioned restrooms, and free shuttle service from designated parking lots at Grace Fellowship Church, Bloom Baptist, and Eastside Athletics.
“We’re not about rides or carnival games,” said Miss Tamasha Tennant, Honeyfest Secretary and Vice President of the Ohio Festivals and Events Association. “Our focus is education, comfort, and community. Patrons appreciate the care we put into making the festival secure, accessible, and fun.”
Over 100 volunteers help organize the event each year, creating a festival experience that has earned loyal attendees who return annually. Festivalgoers can shop unique vendors, enjoy live local music, and learn from beekeeper associations offering demonstrations, scholarships, and pollinator education.
The Lithopolis Honeyfest is presented as a nonprofit event and continues to thrive thanks to the support of sponsors, vendors, and the dedication of community members.
