CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Sheetz, the Mid-Atlantic restaurant and convenience chain, is marking a major milestone with the grand opening of its 800th store in Raleigh, North Carolina, on August 28, 2025. The company, which has seen rapid expansion in Ohio and beyond, is celebrating with community donations, customer giveaways, and a special offer of two free hot dogs with any purchase from August 28 through September 2 at all 800 locations, available via the Sheetz app.

“We’re incredibly humbled to reach this milestone,” said Travis Sheetz, President and CEO. “It’s a testament to our dedicated employees and loyal customers. As we aim for 1,000 stores by 2028, we’re excited to bring our unique convenience experience to more communities.”

Sheetz’s growth has been notable in Ohio, where it opened its 700th store in Columbus in September 2023. The company now operates nearly 10 stores in the Dayton market, with plans for 10 more, and has expanded into Cincinnati with locations in Franklin and Springboro, as well as Toledo, where two additional stores opened in May 2025. Sheetz also broke ground on a $169 million food preparation and distribution center in Findlay, Ohio, to support its regional growth.

Beyond Ohio, Sheetz entered Michigan with its first Detroit-area store in August 2024 and plans to open 50-60 locations in southeast Michigan over the next five to six years. The chain operates across seven states, including Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Michigan, employing over 26,000 people.

Known for its Made-to-Order (MTO®) menu, Sheetz offers 24/7 dining with customizable options like subs, sandwiches, pizza, salads, and specialty drinks. Its commitment to quality earned it a spot as a Best Regional Fast Food Chain by USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards and a ranking on Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list for the 10th consecutive year.

Sheetz’s community focus was recently recognized in the top 10 of the “Companies that Care” list by Great Place to Work and PEOPLE Magazine. The company offers competitive benefits, including fully paid maternity leave, a 401(k) plan, and tuition reimbursement, reinforcing its mission to care for employees and communities alike.

The Raleigh grand opening will feature local donations and giveaways, underscoring Sheetz’s dedication to making a positive impact as it continues its ambitious expansion.
