LANCASTER, Ohio — A three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Edgewood Avenue and North Columbus Street on August 19, 2025, resulted in injuries and significant vehicle damage, according to the Lancaster Police Department.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:51 p.m. when a 2024 black Lexus, driven by 71-year-old Andrew Patrick Ogilvie, attempted to make a left turn from Edgewood Avenue onto North Columbus Street. Police reports indicate that Ogilvie failed to yield to an oncoming 2017 black Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by 40-year-old Justyn Alynn Ratliff, traveling southbound on North Columbus Street. The motorcycle collided with the Lexus, ejecting Ratliff from the bike.
Following the initial impact, the motorcycle veered across the street and struck a parked 2017 black Toyota Tacoma, owned by Logan D. Roca, on the east side of North Columbus Street. The crash occurred in daylight under clear weather conditions on a dry, asphalt road with a posted speed limit of 35 mph.
Ratliff, who was wearing a helmet, sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported to Fairfield Medical Center by the Lancaster Fire Department. The motorcycle sustained disabling damage, while the Lexus and the Toyota suffered minor to functional damage. Barbers Towing removed the motorcycle from the scene. Both drivers received citations: Ogilvie for failing to yield the right of way when turning left, and Ratliff for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.
The police investigation, conducted by Officer Corey Snyder and reviewed by Officer Christopher Cook, noted that the crash occurred at a signal-controlled intersection. The roadway was closed for approximately 40 minutes, with the scene cleared by 8:47 p.m.
No further details on the condition of the drivers or additional injuries were reported. The investigation remains ongoing.
