
FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Ohio — A 51-year-old man is in custody following a Saturday evening shooting in Fairfield County that left another man in critical condition.
Christofer Allen, 51, was arrested and charged with felonious assault in connection with the incident, according to authorities.
Emergency crews responded to the 3500 block of Stoney Hill Road on Saturday evening after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, first responders found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
The victim was treated at the scene before being transported by ambulance to Grant Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
Law enforcement officers secured the scene as investigators worked through the night to determine what led to the gunfire. While an arrest has been made, officials have not yet released additional details regarding a motive or the relationship between Allen and the victim.
