
CHILLICOTHE — Chillicothe police responded to a series of calls across the city on Saturday, August 16, ranging from traffic violations to a gun-related arrest, according to the department’s daily media report.
The most serious incident happened around 5:30 a.m. on Locust Street, where officers were dispatched to a home after reports of a man holding another individual at gunpoint. Police confirmed that an arrest was made at the scene.
Other calls included:
- Disorderly Conduct: Officers were called to East 2nd Street just after 8 a.m. for a disturbance. The case remains under investigation.
- Hit-Skip Accidents: Police responded to reports of hit-skip crashes on South Sugar Street around 10:50 a.m. and later at Pilot on East Main Street just before 9 p.m. Both remain under investigation.
- Criminal Trespass: A trespass complaint was reported at a business on East Main Street around 11:40 a.m.
- Traffic Violations & Crashes: Officers conducted a traffic stop for failure to stop at a stop sign on North Bridge Street and investigated a left-turn crash on Western Avenue. Later in the evening, police cited a driver following a crash on East 2nd Street for operating a motorcycle without a proper endorsement.
- Theft: Police investigated a shoplifting incident at River Trace Lane around 2:50 p.m.
- Registration Violation: Around 5 p.m., an officer cited a driver on Prospect Street for failing to renew vehicle registration, which had expired in December 2024.
No major injuries were reported in the weekend calls, and several investigations remain ongoing.
