WALNUT TOWNSHIP, OH – The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic crash that occurred on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 7:49 PM EDT, reported at 7:50 PM and cleared by 9:39 PM. The incident, took place on N. Court St near US Route 23, involving a single vehicle with suspected minor injuries.

According to the Sheriff department, the driver of Unit 1, identified as Jose Mohedano Sanchez, 28, of Columbus, lost control on loose gravel, veering off the right side of the road. The vehicle, a 1995 Ford F-150, struck a utility pole and a fence belonging to Sevan Auto Parts. Sanchez, who has never held a valid driver’s license in any state and faces an unknown suspension from an earlier ticket this year, was cited for operating a vehicle without reasonable control under Ohio Revised Code 4511.202.

No other units or non-motorists were involved, and the crash occurred on a straight, level section of roadway under clear weather and daylight conditions. The road surface was blacktop, with loose gravel noted as a contributing factor.

Deputy Zachary Irwin arrived at 7:56 PM, spending 45 minutes on the scene, with a total investigation time of 148 minutes. Deputy Stacey Eitel reviewed the report. Sanchez was taken by EMS to an unspecified medical facility with suspected minor injuries, though specific details on safety equipment usage were not detailed.
