Circleville Police Respond to 57 Incidents Over Busy Weekend

CIRCLEVILLE, OH (May 5, 2025) — The Circleville Police Department responded to a total of 57 incidents between Friday, May 2 and Sunday, May 4, with reports ranging from traffic stops and domestic disturbances to multiple 911 hang-ups and burglary investigations.


🔹 Notable Incidents:

  • Burglary Reports: Officers took reports for two separate burglary cases — one on Plaza Drive on Friday evening, and another on South Court Street on Sunday afternoon.
  • Breaking & Entering: A report of breaking and entering was filed on Second Avenue Friday afternoon.
  • Domestic Trouble: Police responded to a domestic dispute on Pontious Lane on Sunday around noon. A report was taken.
  • Vandalism: Early Saturday morning, a vandalism report was filed from East Franklin Street.
  • Hit-Skip Crash: A non-injury hit-skip accident occurred on U.S. 23 mid-morning Saturday, resulting in a filed report.

🚨 Emergency Responses and Alarm Drops:

  • Several alarm drops were reported at locations including U.S. 23, Watt Street, and East Main Street. All were either handled on scene or deemed false alarms.
  • Police assisted with well-being checks on multiple individuals across Pickaway Street, Willow Lane, Island Road, and Canal Road — most were resolved on scene or referred to other agencies.
  • Multiple 911 hang-up calls were logged throughout the weekend; all were determined to be accidental or resolved without incident.

🚓 Traffic Enforcement:

  • Police conducted numerous traffic stops, issuing a mix of warnings and citations across high-traffic areas such as U.S. 23, Court Street, and Lancaster Pike.
  • One citation was issued Sunday on Logan Street.

🏢 Business Checks and Public Safety:

  • Routine business checks were completed at establishments on East Main, South Court, and West Main Streets with no issues found.
  • Officers also addressed suspicious activity reports involving vehicles and persons, including a call on East Main Street where the subject was gone before officers arrived.

Circleville Police remind residents to stay alert, report suspicious activity, and use 911 responsibly. Many of the accidental emergency calls over the weekend consumed valuable response time that could be needed for real emergencies.
