Hocking County Sheriff Lanny E. North reports:

July 10, 2022 Deputies responded to State Route 664 to an intoxicated juvenile. It was reported a male juvenile was highly intoxicated and required medical treatment. Deputies spoke to the juvenile’s parents who were on the scene. Deputies tried to determine where the juvenile consumed the alcohol. Medics from Hocking County Emergency Services were on the scene treating the juvenile. He was later transported to Hocking Valley Community Hospital for medical treatment.

July 10, 2022 Deputies responded to State Route 93S to a report of a natural death. It was reported an elderly male subject passed away. Deputies spoke to the family members on the scene. The decedent was released to Heinlein Brown Funeral Home.

July 10, 2022 Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to the Emergency Department to a report of a male subject who overdosed on a narcotic. It was reported the male subject ingested an unknown amount of illegal narcotics. He received medical treatment and was later transported to Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail. July 10, 2022Deputies responded to State Route 328 to a report of theft. It was reported a check was written that was fraudulent. Deputies obtained statements and collected evidence. The incident is still under investigation.

July 10, 2022 Deputies responded to Stump Run Road to a report of a male subject having a mental health crisis. It was reported a male subject made threats to harm himself. Deputies made contact with the male subject and he was later transported to Hocking Valley Community Hospital.

July 10, 2022 Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to the Emergency Department for a male subject having a mental health crisis. It was reported a male subject made threats to harm himself. The male subject was evaluated and received mental health treatment.

July 10, 2022 Deputies responded to Pike Street to a report of domestic violence. It was reported an adult male subject had assaulted a juvenile male. Deputies spoke to the juvenile’s mother. Statements were obtained and evidence was collected. The male suspect left prior to the Deputies’ arrival. The incident was forwarded to the Hocking County Prosecutor’s Office for review and charges.

July 10, 2022 Deputies responded to US33 in Rockbridge to a report of a violation of a protection order. It was reported a male subject had violated a protection order that the female complainant had against him. Deputies obtained statements and the incident is being forwarded to the Hocking County Prosecutor’s Office for review. July 10, 2022Deputies responded to Burcham Road to a report of theft. It was reported a license plate was stolen from a motor vehicle. Deputies obtained statements and collected evidence. The license plate was entered into the National Crime and Information Center.

July 10, 2022 Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to the Emergency Department to a male subject in a mental health crisis. It was reported that the male subject made threats to harm himself. The male was evaluated and transported to a mental health facility.

July 11, 2022 Deputies responded to Darl Road to a report of criminal mischief. It was reported several vehicles were broken into and items were taken. Deputies obtained statements and collected evidence. The incident is still under investigation.

July 11, 2022 Deputies responded to Central Avenue to a report of a male subject in a mental health crisis. It was reported a female subject at the residence threatened to harm herself. Deputies spoke to the female subject, who had cut herself with a razor. Medics from the Hocking County Emergency Services were on the scene treating the injuries. The female was transported to Hocking Valley Community Hospital for mental health treatment.

July 11, 2022 Deputies responded to State Route 664S to a report of theft. It was reported a trailer and an all-terrain vehicle was stolen. Deputies obtained statements and collected evidence. The incident is still under investigation.

July 11, 2022 Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to the Emergency Department to a report of a female subject who was having a mental health crisis. It was reported the female wanted to harm herself. Deputies spoke to the female and she later received mental health evaluation.

July 11, 2022 Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to the Emergency Department for a female juvenile who was having a mental health crisis. It was reported the female wanted to harm herself. The female received mental health treatment.

July 11, 2022 A Bigham Road residence came to the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office to report theft of money. The resident was a victim of a scam. The scam involved contact being made to the victim by email, stating someone was trying to deposit money into one of the victim’s accounts and that the victim’s bank account was hacked. This led the victim into putting the money into a fraudulent account. The case remains under investigation.

July 12, 2022 Deputies responded to Central Avenue to a report of criminal mischief. It was repoted that a dispute occurred between a male and female subject. During the argument several items were damaged. Deputies spoke to the parties involved. The incident has been forwarded to the Hocking County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

July 12, 2022 Deputies responded to Drummond Drive to a report of a female subject in a mental health crisis. It was reported the female was threatening her neighbors. Deputies spoke to the female. She was transported to Hocking Valley Community Hospital for mental health treatment.

July 12, 2022 Deputies responded to Goosecreek Road to a report of domestic violence. It was reported a male subject assaulted his girlfriend who he resides with. Deputies obtained statements and collected evidence. The incident was forwarded to the Hocking County Prosecutor’s Office for charges.

July 12, 2022 Deputies responded to the Park and Ride in Rockbridge on a suspicious female entering a vehicle that had been recently parked. The vehicle belonged to a male the Sheriff’s Office arrested on a warrant just prior. The female broke into the vehicle and was removing items from the vehicle. The case remains under investigation.

July 13, 2022 Deputies performed a traffic stop on Short Street in Murray City. During the traffic narcotics and drug paraphernalia were recovered. Evidence was collected and the narcotics were sent to the Bureau of Criminal Identification for analysis. Charges were filed with the Hocking County Prosecutor’s Office.

July 13, 2022 Deputies responded to Haydenville Road to recover a stolen all-terrain vehicle. Deputies located the stolen all-terrain vehicle. Evidence was collected and the all-terrain vehicle was impounded but will be released to the owner at a later date.

July 13, 2022 Deputies responded to Homer Street for a vehicle crash. All needed information was obtained to complete a crash report. No further action was taken.

July 14, 2022 Deputies responded to a State Route 664 address on a report of a wanted person trespassing on residents property. That individual was located and later transferred into the custody of Fairfield County. Additional local charges may be pending.

July 14, 2022 Deputies responded to a South Perry residence for a verbal dispute. Deputies arrived on scene and mediated the dispute and separated the individuals. No further action was taken.

July 14, 2022 Deputies responded to Logan-Hornsmill Road to a report of suspicious male walking on the road. Deputies located the male who had a warrant from the Logan Police Department. Custody of the male was transferred after medical clearance from Hocking Valley Community Hospital Emergency Department.

July 14, 2022 Deputies responded to Ansel Road on a report of a natural death. The female resident was located and found deceased. The decedent was released to Heinlein Brown Funeral Home.

July 15, 2022 Deputies responded to Lynn Drive on a report of a minor vehicle accident. Information was gathered at the scene and a accident report was completed.

July 15, 2022 Deputies responded to Industrial Park Drive on a report of theft. An employee of the business advised deputies a catalytic converted was stolen off one of the work vehicles. The investigation remains under investigation.

July 15, 2022 A Hocking Drive resident came to the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office to report identity fraud. The victim provided documentation from the State of Ohio and the IRS declaring someone had used her personal information to file income tax. The case remains under investigation

.July 15, 2022 Deputies responded to Wagner Road to a report of an altercation and verbal arguments. All the parties involved were still present on arrival. The parties denied any physical altercation. Deputies stood by until the involved parties left the residence.

July 15, 2022 Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to a patient with an altered mental status. Deputies assisted ER staff until the patient could be transported to another facility for treatment.

July 16, 2022 Deputies assigned to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital responded to the Emergency Department to a female in a mental health crisis. The female was having thoughts of self harm and underwent mental health evaluation.
