CIRCLEVILLE – A suspect is in custody at the Pickaway County Jail, charged with the Saturday night robbery of Speedway on Lancaster Pike.

Frederic G. Koscik, 39, was arrested Monday without incident on East Union Street and was charged with one count of robbery.

Saturday’s robbery is the third within the past week at local businesses, including Duke and Duchess and United Dairy Farmers. A press release from the Circleville Police Department states the crimes are being compared due to similar circumstances, and the investigations continue.

A total of eight business robberies in the city since October remain unsolved, and an additional four now have suspects charged.

According to reports, the latest suspect entered Speedway at 225 Lancaster Pike about 10:54 p.m. Saturday, picked up a danish, then walked to the check-out counter. He placed the danish on the counter and showed the clerk a hand-written note that read, “Give me all the money now.”

While the clerk gathered the money from the cash drawer, the suspect reportedly said, “Hurry, I don’t want to hurt anybody.”

After receiving an unverified amount of money, the suspect fled the store on foot and was last seen heading eastbound.

No weapons were shown during the robbery, and no injuries were reported.

Circleville Police urge anyone with information on this or any of the earlier crimes to call 740-474-8888.
