Lawrence W. Spires, age 71 of Ashville, OH passed away on Tues. Dec. 5, 2017 at Mt. Carmel West in Columbus, OH. He was born on March 16, 1946 in Ashville to the late Lester and Edna (Bable) Spires. Lawrence had worked for Quadra Tech and Van Dyne Crotty in Columbus. He started working for Hay’s Poultry Farm at the age of 14 for over 20 years.
Along with his parents, Lawrence is preceded in death by wife Cathy (Huston) Spires, brother Carl Spires.
Lawrence is survived by children Angela (Richard) Hixon of Circleville, Michele (Jesse) D’Happart of Rhode Island, Edward Spires of Ashville and Dwayne Spires of Columbus; grandchildren Skylar and Shelby Hixon, Larry Michael and Joshua Elson, Dustin (Jessica) Spires, Scot Spires and Ashlyn Spires; brothers and sisters Everett (Becky) Spires of Ashville, Shirley (Wayne) Shoff of Canal Winchester, Dorothy Boysel (and her late husband Bob) of Bellefontaine, Norma (Larry) Trador of FL, Helen (Bill) Nichols of Reynoldsburg; sister-in-law Susetko Spires of CA; special sister Margie Delong of Circleville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends 4 to 7 pm Friday, Dec. 8 2017 at the Pickaway Church of Christ,12900 Ashville Pike, Ashville, Ohio 43103. A service in memory will follow at 7pm.
