Chillicothe, Ohio (February 19, 2024) – Friday evening on Atlantis Road took a somber turn as a 49-year-old Chillicothe resident, Adamjon Jones, tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle accident.

Preliminary investigations by the Ohio State Highway Patrol suggest Mr. Jones was driving northbound around 6:12 PM when his 2018 Chevrolet Colorado swerved off the road and collided with a mailbox. Authorities suspect a sudden medical emergency may have been the cause of the incident.

Despite valiant efforts by first responders, who administered life-saving measures and transported Mr. Jones to Adena Regional Medical Center, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues their investigation to determine the exact cause and contributing factors surrounding this tragic event. Assisting on the scene were the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, Union Township Fire and EMS, and the Ross County Coroner’s Office.

This devastating loss underscores the importance of vigilance and awareness while driving, particularly when experiencing any potential health concerns. Our hearts go out to Mr. Jones’ family and loved ones during this difficult time.
