Afternoon Accident on 23 Sends Five to Hospital in Circleville

CIRCLEVILLE – An accident occurred around 11:50 am on October 26, 2018, at the intersection of Fairchild Service Rd. and Interstate 23.

According to Pickaway County Sheriff on the Scene, the maroon Buick driven by Leonard Rogers from Circleville was heading Northbound on 23 and attempted to make a left turn on to Fairchild Service Rd.  The Buick failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was hit by the Black XTS Cadillac driven by Scott Waddle from Indiana,(58).  The Cadillac ricocheted off and came to rest in the ditch beside 23 damaging the intersections stoplight controls.

All four people in the Cadillac sustained some injuries, but the most severe injury was the Rear passenger suffered a head injury, and an emergency flight was flown into Berger for possible transport.

One in Buick was also transported to Berger with minor injuries.
Traffic was impeded for about an hour, the damage to the signal control box caused the light at the intersection to blink red signaling a 4 way stop for all cars.

According to the passenger of the Cadillac, they were heading to Martinsville Speedway in Ridgeway, VA for The Texas Roadhouse 200.

Pickaway County Sheriff, Circleville Police, Circleville Fire/EMT, and Pickaway Township Fire/EMS were on scene.
