Circleville, Ohio (February 13, 2024) – On February 12th, a Pickaway County Deputy responded to a reported theft in progress at Walmart. Dispatch described the suspect as a white female wearing black and white pajama pants, carrying stolen items in a pink and black bag, and fleeing in a silver Dodge truck with license plate KEU4245.

The officer located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, claimed he was unaware of any theft and simply picked up the passenger, Bobbie Thompson, at her request.

Thompson matched the suspect description and had an active arrest warrant. She was taken into custody and transported back to Walmart to meet with security. Stolen items were recovered from her pink backpack, resulting in trespassing charges from the store.

At the Pickaway County Jail, a more thorough search of Thompson’s belongings revealed:

  • An unmarked pill bottle containing 95 D-24 capsules (Gabapentin), with the label allegedly torn off.
  • A small bag containing a white crystalline substance and a straw (suspected Methamphetamine).
  • 88 individual Buprenorphine/Naloxone sublingual films (Suboxone) in a separate pouch.

Thompson claimed the Gabapentin was prescribed but lacked proper labeling, admitted ownership of the Methamphetamine but claimed to have forgotten about it, and stated the Suboxone was recently obtained.

Based on these findings, Thompson faces multiple charges:

  • Two counts of Possession of Controlled Substances (Felony of the 5th degree) for the Suboxone and Methamphetamine.
  • One count of Possessing Drug Abuse Instruments (Misdemeanor of the 1st degree).

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of carrying prescribed medications with proper labeling and the potential consequences of illegal drug possession. It also highlights the diligence of law enforcement officers in investigating suspected thefts and apprehending individuals with outstanding warrants.
