Update – Three People were Injured in Ross County US-23 Crash One Flown by Helicopter

Chillicothe – The Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle injury crash that occurred at approximately 11:07 AM on Thursday, May 25

A 2003 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Jacklyne D. Armstrong, age 40, of Chillicothe, Ohio, was traveling eastbound on Trego Creek Road. Her vehicle failed to yield from a stop sign and was struck by a 2004 Saturn Ion, driven by Edgel P. Akers, 68, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, traveling southbound on US 23. Ms. Armstrong was mechanically extracted from her vehicle and was flown by MedFlight to OSU Wexner Medical Center. Mr. Akers was transported by Scioto Township EMS to Adena Regional Medical Center. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger,
Morgan H. Wright, 20, of Chillicothe, in Ms. Armstrong’s vehicle suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment on the scene.


The Ohio Department of Transportation, MedFlight, Scioto Township EMS, Scioto Township Fire Department, Huntington Township FD, and Veterans Affairs FD all assisted on the scene. US 23 was closed for approximately one hour. The crash remains under investigation.
