A two-vehicle crash occurred on State Route 159 in Springfield Township, Ross County, Ohio, on July 17, 2025, at approximately 11:28 a.m. The collision involved a 2017 Ford F-650 driven by 57-year-old Richard McRoberts of Chillicothe and a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 driven by 25-year-old Lane A. Jayne of Chillicothe.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Chevrolet S-10 was attempting to turn left onto Hopetown Road when it failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was struck by the Ford F-650. Jayne was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center with serious injuries and later flown to Grant Medical Center in Columbus via MedFlight. McRoberts sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The northbound lanes of State Route 159 were closed for about an hour as emergency responders attended to the scene. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by Green Township Fire and EMS and Springfield Township EMS. The crash remains under investigation.
