WALNUT TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A driver trying to repair a flat tire on the shoulder of Ashville Fairfield Road was struck by an oncoming vehicle Saturday morning, September 26, 2026, leading to a secondary collision with a nearby cattle fence.

According to a crash report from the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, emergency responders were dispatched at 7:47 a.m. to the 6300 block of Ashville Fairfield Road in Walnut Township.

Investigators determined that Gregory R. Creamer, 74, of Stoutsville, had stopped his 2007 Toyota partially on the roadway while attempting to fix a suspected flat tire. Quincy M. Lowery, 20, of Circleville, was traveling eastbound in a 2022 Acura MDX at approximately 40 mph when she came over a hill and spotted Creamer’s stationary vehicle.

Lowery was unable to stop in time, striking the driver-side rear of Creamer’s vehicle. The impact pushed the Toyota off the right side of the roadway, where it crashed through a farm fence belonging to local resident Norm Dresbach.

Creamer sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported by Harrison Township Medic 801 to Berger Hospital in Circleville for treatment. Lowery suffered possible injuries but was not reported as transported by emergency medical services. Both drivers were wearing their lap and shoulder belts at the time of the crash.

Deputy Jay McGill cited Lowery for failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead (ACDA). Weather and road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the collision, and no impairment was suspected.

Scioto Valley Towing removed the Acura from the scene. Deputy McGill cleared the area shortly after 8:45 a.m.
