CIRCLEVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A three-vehicle collision at the intersection of US-23 and Sperry Drive in Circleville Township, Pickaway County, left two drivers with suspected minor injuries on Thursday, October 2, 2025, according to a Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office report.

The crash occurred at 9:22 a.m. when Leakhenna Heng, 37, of South Bloomfield, driving a white 2007 Lexus GS, was stationary in the US-23 southbound turning lane, attempting a left turn onto Sperry Drive eastbound. Cynthia Kay Catron, 62, of Chillicothe, traveling northbound on US-23 in the left lane in a tan 2001 Honda Civic, collided head-on with Heng’s vehicle. The impact caused a tire from Heng’s Lexus to detach, striking a third vehicle, a red 2022 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Mary Kathryn Metcalf, 59, of Tarlton, who was stationary on the east side of the intersection waiting to turn right onto US-23 northbound.

Heng and Catron were transported by Pickaway Fire EMS and Circleville Fire EMS, respectively, to Berger Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries. Metcalf reported no apparent injuries and was not transported. All drivers were wearing shoulder and lap belts. Airbags deployed in both Heng’s and Catron’s vehicles, but not in Metcalf’s. Heng’s Lexus and Catron’s Civic sustained disabling damage, while Metcalf’s Malibu had minor damage. Both damaged vehicles were towed by Amnesty Towing.
The sheriff’s report notes the crash occurred on a dry, straight, and level six-lane, two-way road under clear daylight conditions, controlled by a traffic signal. Heng was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way at a through highway under Ohio Revised Code 4511.43. No alcohol or drugs were suspected, though Heng’s condition and potential distraction were noted as unknown.
The investigation, led by Deputy Michael Oberley and reviewed by Deputy Stacey Eitel, took 148 minutes, with the scene cleared by 11:52 a.m. The roadway was not closed during the response. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
