CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A warrant service at a Park Street residence resulted in a foot pursuit and the deployment of a Taser, according to a Chillicothe Police Department report.

Officers were dispatched to 145 Park St. on Oct. 11, 2026, to assist Ross County deputies with serving a warrant. The arrest was ultimately made by Ross County deputies.

According to a supplemental narrative filed by Officer Kyle Curry, officers made contact with a family member at the front door before being advised that Thee Kuntz might attempt to flee through the back of the residence.

Officers pursued Kuntz through the backyard after he ran from the residence. The report states that Kuntz then entered a shed at the rear of the property.

When officers opened the shed door, Curry reported seeing Kuntz bending over and appearing to reach for something. Curry said he deployed one cartridge from his department-issued Taser 7, which fired two probes. The deployment was unsuccessful.

Curry stated that he did not verbally announce the Taser before deploying it because Kuntz had run into the shed and was bending over, leaving the officer uncertain about what he was reaching for.

According to the report, Kuntz then complied with officers’ commands to remain still and get down on his knees. Curry said he took hold of Kuntz’s shirt and brought him down onto the ground before officers placed him in handcuffs.

Kuntz was transported to the Ross County Jail, where he was turned over to Deputy Morgan for charges, according to the report.

Curry documented the spent Taser cartridge and stated that it was photographed, uploaded to the department’s Axon evidence system and placed into Chillicothe Police Department evidence.

The report did not specify the underlying warrant or the charges filed by Ross County deputies.
