Marietta, OH – On May 14, 2024, a Washington County Grand Jury indicted a local woman, Linda Leccesse, aged 30 and residing in Marietta, for Engaging in Solicitation After a Positive HIV Test, classified as a third-degree felony.

Following an extensive investigation, law enforcement agents identified at least 211 individuals who had contact with Leccesse. This information dates back to 2022 when she tested positive for HIV.

In response to these findings, officers from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Marietta Police Department will be reaching out via phone calls to known phone numbers associated with individuals who had contact with Leccesse. It is crucial to note that this initiative is not a scam but rather a Public Health Announcement aimed at addressing potential health risks.

Individuals contacted by law enforcement are not considered to be in trouble. Instead, officers will be guiding them to their local Health Departments for HIV screening and/or treatment.

Local individuals affected by this announcement will be directed to the Marietta/Belpre Health Department, situated at 304 Putnam Street, Marietta, OH.

The indictment and subsequent actions underscore the importance of public health initiatives and the collaborative efforts of law enforcement and health agencies in safeguarding community well-being.
