Members of historical organizations across Southeast Ohio meet at the Ross County Heritage Center in one of the coordinating meetings by the Southeast Ohio History Center on March 12th, 2024.

Chillicothe and Athens — The Southeast Ohio History Center based in Athens, Ohio, is coordinating a series of meetings with local museums and other organizations to create a cohesive network in the region.

The recent meeting at the Ross County Heritage Center (the home of the Ross County Historical Society) on March 12th was assisted by Logan Lambert, a “Local Historian” in AmeriCorps and thus a part of its state version, the Ohio History Service Corps. The Wellston and Jackson native and OU graduate says he is helping to establish cohesive resources and contacts among the organizations to keep history alive.

The Southeast Ohio History Center, formerly the Athens County Historical Society, is no longer just Athens-focused, but more regional and statewide. You can learn more by contacting their director, Tom O’Grady, who is also also known for his work with Friends of Ohio Barns and Ohio’s Hill Country

Hear Lambert in his own words in the below video interview.
