SOUTH BLOOMFIELD, OH — The South Bloomfield Police Department is set to bring a unique twist to holiday cheer with its “Christmas in July” event on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, announced on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11:27 AM EDT. Sponsored by Buckley Bros and Zanzi’s Pizza, and PICA, the event will feature a food truck, a shaved ice stand, and a special visit from Santa Claus between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM at 5045 S. Walnut, South Bloomfield.

Originally inspired by consultations with Santa Claus and the timing of local toy drives, the department shifted its traditional mid-December Topple The Truck toy drive to align with PICA’s mid-summer collections. “We figured since so many places hold toy drives in December, this would be a fresh change,” a police spokesperson said. The event aims to engage the community, especially newer residents, encouraging them to join in the festive spirit. The department did report that they still will hold the topple the Tahoe event in mid December.

Attendees are invited to bring a new, unwrapped toy to support the 2025 Christmas toy drive for area kids, with all donations benefiting local children. The police department hopes to foster community spirit while continuing its annual toy collection tradition.
