Sofidel built a tissue paper manufacturing plant on 280 acres in Circleville, Ohio. The site is one mile long, and the building contains more than 1.4 million square feet. The integrated plant incorporates a paper mill, a converting plant for producing the finished product and a state-of-the-art warehousing facility. Once at full capacity, the facility will employ 700 people.

Sofidel, a leading global provider of paper for hygienic and domestic use, has been named a winner in the 2024 BIG Innovation Awards presented by the Business Intelligence Group (BIG). The award recognizes Sofidel’s innovative Papernet powered by HyTech Seas dispensers, designed to improve restroom hygiene while simultaneously promoting sustainability.

“We’re honored to be recognized by the Business Intelligence Group for our HyTech Seas dispensers,” said Fabio Vitali, Vice President of Marketing, Sofidel America. “Sustainability is a key priority for Sofidel, and these dispensers represent a significant step forward in our commitment to providing eco-friendly hygiene solutions.”

Fighting Ocean Plastic Pollution:

HyTech Seas dispensers are manufactured with recovered ocean plastic waste, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional dispensers made from virgin plastic. This helps combat the growing problem of plastic pollution in oceans, which poses a significant threat to marine life.

Aligned with Sustainability Goals:

Sofidel has set ambitious targets for minimizing plastic waste in its operations and products. By 2030, the company aims to reduce plastic use in its packaging by 50% compared to 2013 levels, and the HyTech Seas dispensers directly contribute to achieving this goal.

Recognized for Industry Leadership:

Maria Jimenez, chief nominations officer of the BIG, stated, “Innovation is driving our society, and we are thrilled to be honoring Sofidel as they are leading by example and improving the lives of so many.” This award recognizes Sofidel’s commitment to sustainable innovation and its positive impact on the environment.

Global Recognition:

Organizations from around the world submitted their innovations for consideration in the BIG Innovation Awards. HyTech Seas dispensers stood out through their unique combination of user-friendly hygiene solutions and environmental responsibility.
