Several Defendants Face Charges in Pickaway County Court

April 10, 2024 – In a session presided over by Judge P. Randall Knece at the Court of Common Pleas, several defendants faced charges, with outcomes ranging from sentencing to further pretrial proceedings.

Among the individuals appearing before the court was Marty Ray Dotson, 44, of 10353 Darby Creek Rd., Orient, OH, who faced charges of Murder and Voluntary Manslaughter. Dotson received a sentence of 26 years to life in prison, the maximum penalty for the offenses.

Jaavon A.T. Philpot, 25, of Sale Rd., Columbus, OH, faced charges of Aggravated Possession of Drugs and Possession of Marijuana. A Presentence Investigation (PSI) was ordered in Philpot’s case.

Ryan D. Rosenberger, 45, of 5th St., Clarksburg, OH, was charged with Aggravated Possession of Drugs and Operating a Motor Vehicle while Impaired (OMVI). Similar to Philpot, Rosenberger’s case also resulted in a PSI being ordered.

Shannon Stewart, 33, of 1812 Bourbon St., Ashville, OH, faced charges of Having Weapons Under Disability and Aggravated Possession of Drugs. Stewart’s case was set for a pretrial hearing on May 10.

Corey J. Wilburn, 32, of 3791 S.R. 63, Lebanon, OH, faced charges of Illegal Conveyance of Drugs onto the Grounds of a Detention Facility. Wilburn was sentenced to 12 months in prison, with placement in the Community Based Correctional Facility (CBCF).

The proceedings underscore the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and the judicial system to uphold justice in Pickaway County. Further developments in these cases will be closely monitored as they progress through the legal process.
