SCIOTO Township – Scioto Township has a new zoning inspector after the previous inspector retired. They didn’t have to look to far for a qualified candidate when a local man threw his hat into the ring.

Dennis Allen a recent retiree from Whitehall Police Department where he was a detective sergeant, Allen has a total of twenty Eight years in Law enforcement background. After retiring for a few years he realized he wanted to do something, but not a complete 9 to 5 job.

“I wanted a flexible job one where I can somewhat control my schedule and still enjoy life,” said Allen, “I don’t want to punch a clock but I want to help and do something for my area.”

Allen says his goal to digitize more files and try to fill the shoes of the pervious inspector who Trustee Ralph Wolfe said would be sadly missed.

Wolfe said that the Township has been working on a website for access to zoning permits and paperwork so you can print out and send them in via fax or email to make zoning easier for the township you can access that link here. https://sciototownship.com
