NEW BOSTON, Ohio — Guthrie’s, the family-owned restaurant chain known for its chicken finger-only menu, has opened a new location in New Boston as part of its continued Midwest expansion.

The restaurant officially opened Tuesday at 4642 Gallia St. This marks Guthrie’s second location in Ohio and the third store opening nationwide in 2026. The New Boston restaurant is the third regional location for franchisees Beckett Gue and Sam Gue, along with partner Jake Nix, operating as Tri-State Guthries, LLC.

Founded in Alabama, Guthrie’s made restaurant history in 1982 by becoming the first brand to focus its entire menu on chicken fingers. For more than 40 years, the company has centered its business around hand-breaded chicken fingers and its signature dipping sauce.

“We’re proud to bring the family-owned tradition of Guthrie’s Chicken into New Boston,” said Tom Carr, President and CEO of Guthrie’s Franchising. “We’re excited to support our local franchise partners as they open their third location and share our signature chicken fingers, sauce, and hospitality with even more of the Ohio Valley region.”

The New Boston location will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. In addition to chicken fingers, the restaurant serves hand-chopped coleslaw, crinkle-cut French fries, Texas toast, and Guthrie’s signature sauce.

Company officials said the restaurant is expected to bring approximately 50 jobs to the area.

Guthrie’s was founded in Haleyville, Alabama, and currently operates more than 70 locations across 12 states, with additional growth planned throughout 2026.
