CHILLICOTHE – Downtown Chillicothe Inc., is turning downtown Chillicothe overnight into something that may turn some heads when they see the downtown area this morning.

According to the Chillicothe Vistors bureau, Downtown Chillicothe will host, “Sand in the Streets” a volleyball tournament with 24 teams of volleyball fun. But, how will they do that? There’s no sand in downtown Chillicothe? The organization is currently trucking in 300 tons of sand dumped on Paint street for the August 28th event.

Then they will invite everyone to come out and grab a beer, a chair and put their toes in the sand, enjoy some live music and volleyball.

20 Recreational and 6 competitive teams will come and play for the city on Saturday in the first “Sand in the Streets” event. The games start at 9:00 a.m. The entry fee is $2.00/person.

Downtown Chillicothe has a DORA so grab a beer and sit down and enjoy the action.
