Bainbridge, OH – On July 20, 2024, deputies from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop that led to multiple arrests in Bainbridge, Ohio. The incident began when a Ross County Deputy observed a motorcycle traveling without taillights on Quarry Street near Second Street. As the motorcycle turned onto Second Street, it failed to stop at the intersection and exhibited erratic behavior.
The deputy initiated a traffic stop and approached the motorcycle, which was identified as a 2013 Harley Davidson with expired registration. The driver initially identified himself as someone else with a fake birthday, while the passenger provided false information also claiming to be another woman with a birthdate of February 17, 2002. The deputy immediately came back with the age discrepancy saying, “it was very apparent the female subject was not 22 years in age.”
Upon further investigation, including comparing the provided information with BMV records and photographs, it was determined that both individuals had given false identities. The driver, later confirmed to be Anthony Wilburn, and the passenger, identified as Amanda Wilburn, were found to have outstanding warrants and were suspected of possessing illegal substances.
“When asked to dismount the motorcycle, Amanda attempted to flee,” stated Deputies, who arrived as backup. “She was quickly apprehended and found in possession of drug paraphernalia and suspected narcotics.”
Deputies assisted in securing both suspects. Anthony Wilburn was arrested for obstructing official business, falsification, and traffic violations related to fictitious registration. Amanda Wilburn, 43 faces charges including obstructing official business, falsification, drug paraphernalia possession, possessing drug abuse instruments, and resisting arrest. Additionally, she was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine and other illegal substances.
Following the arrests, the motorcycle was seized, and the suspects were transported to Ross County Jail without further incident. The Ross County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with additional information related to this incident to come forward.
