Ross County – Motorcycle Crash on State Route 772 Leaves Chillicothe Man Seriously Injured

Chillicothe – An investigation is underway by the Ohio State Highway Patrol following a motorcycle injury crash that unfolded on State Route 772 near milepost six in Ross County.

On the evening of May 20th, 2024, at around 6:13 PM, a 1999 Harley Davidson 883 motorcycle, operated by Tony H. Davis, aged 56 and hailing from Chillicothe, Ohio, was headed northbound on State Route 772. As Davis approached backed-up traffic in the northbound lane, the Harley Davidson veered across the centerline, causing it to overturn. Subsequently, the motorcycle careened off the left side of the roadway, colliding with both a utility pole and a ditch.

Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, with Mr. Davis being airlifted to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, by MedFlight due to the severity of his injuries.

Assistance on-site was provided by Huntington Township Fire/EMS and MedFlight, aiding in the handling of the aftermath.

State Route 772 near milepost six saw temporary lane reduction for approximately two hours to accommodate the response efforts and investigation.
