CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — What began as a routine evening at Moe’s Southwest Grill on January 13 quickly turned into what police describe as a one-man performance involving invisible conversations, divine requests, and a refusal to cooperate with gravity.

According to a Chillicothe Police report, officers were dispatched to Moe’s around 7:29 p.m. after a maintenance employee reported a man later identified as Tre Beverly was behaving erratically and bothering customers on the west side of the restaurant.

The employee told officers Beverly appeared to be under the influence, was yelling toward the sky, talking to people who were not there, “walking on clouds,” and loudly asking God to come take him — behavior not listed on Moe’s menu.

When an officer arrived, Beverly denied all allegations, insisting he was simply eating dinner. He even escorted the officer to his unattended food and drink to prove he was, in fact, a customer and not a supernatural being.

However, things escalated when Beverly suddenly raised his hands in the air, backed away, and repeatedly stated he had done nothing wrong — despite police already knowing he had an active felony warrant for grand theft of a motor vehicle.

When officers attempted to take him into custody, Beverly reportedly resisted, refused commands, chest-bumped the officer, and repeatedly shouted “kill me then,” before attempting to flee. A physical struggle followed, ending with Beverly on the ground, face-down, and eventually in handcuffs with assistance from another employee.

Once handcuffed, Beverly allegedly pretended to have a seizure — a performance quickly interrupted by a sternum rub, which police say restored his awareness almost immediately.

Officers then attempted to place Beverly into a patrol vehicle, where he continued resisting by kicking, trying to block doors, and refusing to sit. During transport to the Ross County Jail, police say he continued yelling threats, obscenities, and aggressively kicking the cruiser doors.

During the incident, a glass pipe commonly known as a “bubble” — often used to ingest methamphetamine — reportedly fell from Beverly’s person and shattered on the ground.

Beverly was booked on charges of:

  • Resisting Arrest (M1)
  • Obstructing Official Business (M2)
  • Drug Paraphernalia (M4)
  • Felony warrant for Motor Vehicle Theft

He is being held without bond pending a court appearance on January 14, 2026.

The arresting officer sustained minor injuries to both knees and a finger, and a body camera was knocked loose during the struggle. No customers were injured, and Moe’s later returned to normal operations — minus one burrito order.
