Ross County Man Reports Theft of Valuable Trees

ROSS – A Ross County man has reported that he has lost several trees on his property plus his fence was damaged in a theft.

According to Ross County police department, they were dispatched to Rinkliff Rd. in reference to a Theft complaint that occured on 12-23-21 at 1047 SR 207. According to the homeowner someone had cut down
three locust trees from an old fence line on the property and that the top two strands of fencing had been cut as well. He explain that the trees were 3 or 4 inches in diameter and maybe 15 feet tall.

Locust trees can be valuable to mills and one of the more valuable trees in the area. A hardwood black or honey locust can fetch a decent price at lumberyards.

Ross County sheriff department is currently investigating the theft
