Ross County – A Ross County man made it worse on himself after breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home by being arrested for OVI.
According to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, on January 14, 2024, Deputy Stanley of the Ross County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary call on Legend Drive. Upon arrival, he made contact with the homeowner, who reported that her ex-boyfriend had entered her residence without permission and engaged in a verbal dispute.
According to the homeowner, the ex-boyfriend arrived at the residence angered by her new relationship. He began banging on the door and windows before forcing entry into the home. Inside, the two engaged in a verbal argument, during which the ex-boyfriend reportedly smacked the phone out of the homeowner’s hand when she attempted to call 911.
Subject Apprehended During Traffic Stop:
Shortly after the incident, deputies located the ex-boyfriend during a routine traffic stop. Officers determined that he was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him for operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI). He was subsequently transported to the Ross County Jail.
Charges Filed:
At the jail, Deputy Stanley informed the ex-boyfriend that he was being charged with burglary, disrupting public services, and menacing by stalking.
