Ross County Grand Jury, April 26th: Don’t Mix Your Drugs, Driving, and Priors

Chillicothe — The Ross County Grand Jury returned all 16 of their cases Friday, April 26th, 2024, with nine open for release to the public. From testimony in the the grand jury in one of the cases, according to the Ross County Prosecutor’s Office:

On February 14th, an Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper conducted a traffic stop on State Route 159. 44-year-old Cory L. Krider was doing 58 mph in a 40 zone and his right front headlight was out.

He admitted he did not have a valid operators license. He had glassy and bloodshsot eyes, and was given a field sobriety test and urine test.

Krider has three prior OVI’s from the Chillicothe Municipal Court. He was charged with, and indicted for:

  • Count one: Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, and previously convicted of 3 or more OVI’s in the last 10 years
  • Count two: At least 35 nanograms of marijuana in his urine, and previously convicted of 3 or more OVI’s in the last 10 years
  • Count three: At least 150 nanograms of cocaine in urine, and was previously convicted of 3 or more OVI’s in the last 10 years

Each one is a fourth degree felony, and Krider could get up to 18 months and $5,000 in fines for each.
