PICKAWAY COUNTY, OH — A New Holland man previously convicted of child sex crimes is behind bars again, facing a fresh set of disturbing charges involving the sexual abuse of two young boys.
Joseph Everts, 35, is currently being held in the Pickaway County Jail on a $1 million bond after investigators reportedly obtained video evidence of the abuse. Everts, a registered sex offender, was previously convicted in 2017 for Illegal Use of a Minor in Nudity-Oriented Material.
This week, Everts plead not guilty to multiple felonies, including:
- Four Counts of Rape (F1)
- Four Counts of Sexual Battery (F2)
- Gross Sexual Imposition (F3 and higher)
Authorities say several of these charges are first- and second-degree felonies, reflecting the severe nature of the alleged offenses.
Court records indicate that, should Everts post bond, he will be under strict conditions, including no contact with the victims involved in the case. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges could be filed.
