Free, live entertainment is part of what makes the Circleville Pumpkin
Show the Greatest Free Show on Earth. The following are just some of
the live performances set for the 2017 Pumpkin Show. See the official
schedule for additional artists and performance times.
TUESDAY, OCT. 17
The Circleville Pumpkin Show Community Band
6 p.m. (West Main Street Stage)
The Circleville Pumpkin Show Community Band was formed in 1979 and
performs at various community events and functions throughout the
year. Of course, their premiere performance each year is at the
Circleville Pumpkin Show, where they appear in parades and in concert.
The band consists of about 60 members of all ages and walks of life,
ranging from a 12-year-old student to an 87-year-old retiree. The
Pumpkin Show Band is directed by David Winner and performs show tunes,
overtures and marches.
Stages
8 p.m. (West Main Street Stage)
Stages is a local classic rock band with members performing around
central and southern Ohio for the past 25 years. The band is excited
to play ts first Pumpkin Show in 2017.
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 18
Charmion Performing Arts Center
1:30 p.m. (West Main Street Stage)
Charmion Performing Arts Center, owned by Marc and Heidi Rogols,
offers professional dance and fitness instruction for children ages 2
to 18 as well as adults. Charmion’s national award-winning competition
team has received numerous awards at national competitions over the
past several years. Students will perform Wednesday and Friday at the
Pumpkin Show.
Next Exit
7 p.m. (West Main Street Stage)
Next Exit is an accomplished cover band playing dance and party rock
favorites across the state and beyond. The band has more than 800
performances under its belt, and the good time they have on stage is
contagious. Their motivation continues to be having fun playing music
that excites people and gets them involved through dancing, singing
along or joining the guys on stage for a cowbell solo.
THURSDAY, OCT. 19
YMCA Creative Arts Center
11:30 a.m. (West Main Street Stage)
Now in its 27th year in Circleville, the YMCA Creative Arts Center
offers dance, baton, art and theater classes to kids ages 2 to 18, as
well as an Extraordinary Dance class for all ages of people with
special needs. Students of the center will perform Thursday at the
Pumpkin Show.
Circleville Men’s Barbershop Chorus
2:45 p.m. (West Main Street Stage)
The Circleville Men’s Barbershop Chorus, directed by Terry Anderson,
sings a capella choral music, frequently in the Barbershop style. They
practice at the Circleville Presbyterian Church and enjoy performing
at area events and during the Christmas season. More information can

DownBeat Percussion
5:30 p.m. (West Main Street Stage)
DownBeat Percussion is a high-energy performing group composed of
world-class entertainers from all over Ohio. The group includes
members of the Cleveland Brown Drumline.
Xperience
6:30 p.m. (West Main Street Stage)
Xperience consists of students of Marty Hayes at Studio 1 in
Circleville. Members play guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboard and
banjo as well as sing. They generally jam to classic rock of the 60s
and 70s such as KISS, the Beatles and Heart. They have played at
Pumpkin Show for the past two years and plan to continue the
tradition. They also play benefit concerts and have other yearly
shows.
FRIDAY, OCT. 20

Steve Gaines Comedy
12 Noon (East Franklin Street Stage)
Steve Gaines is a husband of 20 years, father of 8, daytime punching
bag for Corporate America and a Little League soccer coach. He’s the
father of the year on the outside, but on the inside he’s a raging
lunatic who takes the stage to get his revenge on a world that takes
itself far too seriously.
A club and touring veteran who has worked
with the likes of Christopher Titus, TVs Kevin Meaney, John Hinton,
Vince Morris, Vic Clevenger and Keith Terry, to name a few, “Pops”
discusses marriage, fatherhood, the miseries of life in a cubicle, bad
family members, reality television, cowboys and the pathetic American
government.
Acme Music with John LaFollette
1 p.m. (East Franklin Street Stage)
John LaFollette, a popular central Ohio vocalist/guitarist, captures
the music of the 50s, 60s, 70s, Blues, Folk, and Rock and Roll. John’s
current venues include the Ohio State Fair, the Columbus Zoo,
Coshocton’s First Fridays, Northland International Festival, and civic
and charitable events. This is the fifth year John is performing for
the Circleville Pumpkin Show.
Gospel Harmony Boys
1:30 p.m. (West Main Street Stage)
Gospel Harmony Boys is a name that’s been synonymous with gospel music
for more than a 60 years. They are celebrating their 65th anniversary
this year, and they continue to travel as one of the most respected
names in gospel music today. They were the first gospel quartet to
ever appear on a nationally televised program and have numerous songs
that have reached the national music charts.
Nathan Boyce & the Sweet Talkers
2:45 p.m. (West Main Street Stage)
Nathan Boyce has had a passion for music from an early age. Growing up
listening to the music that his father played from the likes of Tom
Petty, the Beatles, Traveling Wilbury’s and Bob Dylan quickly helped
to shape musical role models for him to look up to. His passion for
music eventually lead him to pick up the guitar. Nathan has been
writing songs for years with past bands and musicians and has compiled
soon-to-be hit songs for his first solo album, “Style and Grace”.
Mothman
4:30 p.m. (West Main Street Stage)
Formed in 1990, Mothman is a band that enjoys performing many
different styles of popular music. They try to perform over 100 shows
a year, the bulk of them in clubs playing cover music ranging from
lighter classic rock, blues, a few country numbers and everything in
between. The band also stays active recording original music and looks
forward to the summer/fall festival circuit.
Simba Jordan “Urban Cowboy”
6:30 p.m. (West Main Street Stage)
Growing up in the Columbus area, Simba’s mother, a jazz singer who
worked the clubs around Columbus, introduced him to music. “At home my
brother and I would sing harmony with my mother to old jazz tunes, and
at my grandparents home I would listen to albums by Kenny Rogers and
Conway Twitty and watch TV shows like Dolly Parton and Hee Haw.” Simba
absorbed and enjoyed it all, but what he came to love the most was
Country.
Mother Hubbard
9 p.m. (West Main Street Stage)
Mother Hubbard was born in 1998, formed by lead singer/lead guitarist
Travis Brown. Travis grew up in central Ohio and is a self-taught
musician. He was heavily influenced by the likes of Eric Clapton, Jimi
Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, The Who and
many more. Jeff Meek brings a full and unique bass guitar sound to the
band along with harmony vocals. Jeff has played with Travis for over
16 years. Mother Hubbard has played all over central Ohio for 19
years, including a trip to New York City playing in Greenwich Village.
Some notable performances include opening for The Charlie Daniels Band
and Georgia Satellites. The band brings an authentic, entertaining
performance to each show.
SATURDAY, OCT. 21
The Raineys
1:30 p.m. (West Main Street Stage)
The Rainey’s return to the Pumpkin Show with their signature family
vocals and great musicianship.
Combining dynamic original material with great songs of the past 40
years, the Rainey’s have been a popular act in central Ohio for over a
decade. The Raineys are Dave Rainey (guitar and vocals) and daughters
Jenny (vocals) and Megan (piano, flute, accordion and vocals). They
are from Ashville. Don’t miss a great opportunity to see this talented
family on stage at the Circleville Pumpkin Show
Family Heritage
3 p.m. (West Main Street Stage)
A night with Family Heritage is most “Uplifting & Encouraging”. They
are best-known for their spirit-filled singing and use of more than
one genre of music to convey the message of Christ, which gives them
an exclusive asset to the ministry of God. Family Heritage, the winner
of the 2005 Horizon Award, 2006 Band of the Year Award, and winner of
the 2008 Bluegrass Group of the Year by the Ohio Christian Music
Association, have recorded 17 albums.
Don Ervin and Company
7 p.m. (West Main Street Stage)
Don Ervin is a vocalist who is comfortable singing in many genres, be
it Broadway standards on stages across the country, or singing the
National Anthem at civic or sporting events or singing classic rock
and pop with his horn driven band, Don Ervin and Kicking Brass. Don is
excited to share this collection of some of the best musicians in the
Midwest to the Pumpkin Show stage. These musicians have played venues
as intimate as jazz clubs in the Short North to sold out concerts at
the Ohio Theatre. A little sassy but always classy…. this is Don
Ervin and Kicking Brass.
